Direct-Cooled Forged Copper Tiles are key components in the control system of submerged arc furnaces. Made of precious T2 copper, these tiles are held tightly against the electrodes under appropriate pressure from the clamping device, carrying the high current from the short circuit network to the electrodes. They often operate in harsh environments, including high-temperature furnace gases, thermal radiation, and resistance heat. These tiles are required to possess excellent electrical conductivity and mechanical strength, as well as resistance to high temperatures and thermal radiation.
1. Due to improvements in the tile material and the use of T2 electrolytic copper, element addition, casting, forging, and heat treatment processes, their electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, mechanical strength, high-temperature performance, and service life have been significantly enhanced.
2. The tiles' rational geometric dimensions, with the exception of the section connecting to the draft tube, ensure uniform current distribution, saving energy and extending their service life.
3. Copper tiles, with a copper content of ≥99.7%, feature deep-drilled holes for direct cooling, eliminating eddy current losses within the cooling water pipes caused by strong electromagnetic fields. This also eliminates the problem of asynchronous expansion and contraction of the cooling water pipes and the copper during temperature changes, reducing energy loss and extending the life of the tiles.
4. Direct contact between the cooling water and the tiles within the tiles improves cooling efficiency, lowers the operating temperature, and extends their service life.
