Forged copper tile is one of the main accessories in submerged arc furnace (silicon metal furnace, calcium carbide furnace and iron alloy furnace). 

It generates heat energy due to passing through large current at high temperature, and is easy to be damaged due to poor working environment.

The forged conductive copper tile  (copper contact clamp) is made of advanced processing technology, with good conductivity and heat resistance, no cracking, no chipping, long service life and low power consumption. Forged copper tile for SAF furnace is the key component of electric furnace. Its function is mainly to transfer the current to the electrode and affect the sintering of the electrode to a certain extent.


Its working condition is poor, and it often works under high temperature, hot furnace gas and dense dust. When the furnace condition is abnormal, the situation is worse and the copper bush is easily damaged prematurely.


Another characteristic of forged copper bush is that its contact with the electrode is not fixed, and the contact position with the electrode needs to be changed regularly with the continuous combustion of the electrode, which also makes its working condition worse.


Forged copper tile is a newly developed energy-saving copper tile in recent years. The copper tile is made of thick copper plate forging and rolling, deep drilling, extrusion forming and hole sealing.


Water-cooled conductive copper tile directly cools the copper tile with high density and good conductivity, which is a new type of copper tile currently being promoted and used. However, in general, there is no consensus on the copper tile material and its method. How to select the material with small electrical loss, easy, durable and low price needs further research and test.


Of course, the material of the forged copper tile is only one aspect of the problem, and the surface quality of the electrode shell contacting the copper tile is also an important factor to extend the service life of the copper btile.
