VD Vacuum Refining Furnace Smelting Process

The smelting process of the VD vacuum refining furnace mainly includes the following steps: vacuum suction, dehydrogenation, temperature adjustment, refining, alloying, molten steel pouring, etc. The specific process is as 2 ~8 :

Vacuum suction: The gas in the furnace chamber is extracted through the suction system to establish a certain vacuum degree to create conditions for subsequent operations.

Dehydrogenation: In a vacuum state, hydrogen is introduced into the molten steel to react the hydrogen in the molten steel with the oxygen in the oxidized steel to generate water vapor, thereby removing oxygen.

Temperature adjustment: The molten steel is temperature-adjusted within a certain temperature range through the heating and cooling system to facilitate the smooth progress of subsequent operations.

Refining: In a vacuum state, refining agents (such as lime, aluminum, etc.) are introduced into the molten steel to perform desulfurization, impurity removal and other operations to obtain low-impurity, high-purity molten steel.

Alloying: Alloy elements are added to the refined molten steel as needed to adjust its chemical composition and improve the performance of the steel.

Molten steel pouring: After refining and alloying, the obtained high-quality molten steel is poured into the casting mold for casting.

VD vacuum refining furnace process flow: The bridge crane lifts the refined molten steel ladle from the LF furnace into the vacuum tank, and the vacuum cover car will be driven to the vacuum treatment station for temperature measurement and sampling. Then, the vacuum tank cover is lowered onto the vacuum tank and the cover is closed. Start the vacuum pump to evacuate, and when the vacuum degree reaches 67Pa, enter the high vacuum degassing treatment. Start to maintain the vacuum for 15-20 minutes. After the treatment is completed, close the vacuum main valve → break the vacuum → lift the ladle cover → temperature measurement and sampling → drive the vacuum cover car to the standby position → stop blowing argon → lift the ladle to the continuous casting station.
