Electric furnace for smelting titanium slag is an electric furnace used for smelting titanium slag. It is usually divided into round furnace and rectangular furnace. Titanium slag smelting furnace is used to extract titanium from ore or other raw materials, and the melting capacity of the electric furnace is usually used to separate titanium.
The shape of the titanium slag electric furnace can be round or rectangular. According to the sealing method of the electric furnace, it can be divided into closed electric furnace smelting, semi-closed electric furnace smelting and open electric furnace smelting. Closed electric furnace smelting is considered to be the most advanced production method at present, while open electric furnace smelting is relatively backward.
The principle of electric furnaces method for producing titanium slag is: ilmenite and solid reducing agent (anthracite or coke, etc.) are mixed in a certain proportion and added to the electric smelting furnace for reduction smelting. The iron oxide in the ore is selectively reduced to metallic iron, and the titanium oxide is enriched in the slag. After slag and iron separation, titanium slag and by-product metallic iron are obtained.
The existing titanium slag furnace smelting process is divided into intermittent smelting, continuous smelting and continuous method of electrode air feeding according to the characteristics of the molten pool; it is divided into open electric furnace, closed electric furnace and semi-closed electric furnace according to the feeding method.
Different smelting processes are selected according to different requirements. The pressure control requirements in the electric furnace are relatively high, and the explosion-proof holes on the furnace cover play a role in maintaining a certain pressure. Temperature measuring thermocouples are installed in different places in the furnace layer of the electric furnace to measure the temperature of the refractory materials at various positions to determine the degree of erosion of the refractory materials.
After the titanium slag furnace is ready for smelting, the order of opening the furnace is: electric furnace drying, lining preheating, furnace wall slag hanging, slag tapping, and iron tapping. Under normal production conditions, the smelting operation sequence of the electric furnaces is

During the smelting process, the main adjustments are
(1) Electrode lifting, electrode gear, current adjustment, capacitor compensation
(2) Furnace top charging control and charging amount
(3) Adjustment of negative pressure in the furnace, furnace gas temperature, etc.
(4) Electrode control.
At a certain stage of smelting, it is necessary to measure the liquid level of molten iron and slag layer. When the adjustment of iron tapping and slag tapping is reached, the iron mouth and slag mouth are burned, and iron and slag are tapped.
The molten iron flows to the cast iron machine through the iron water ditch. After the iron is tapped, the iron mouth needs to be blocked.
Then the slag is discharged, and the discharged slag water enters the slag basin, and the slag in the slag basin is transported to the slag cooling area for cooling. After the slag is discharged, the slag outlet is blocked.
In the smelting production of electric furnaces for smelting titanium slag, the main economic indicators must be calculated, including titanium concentrate consumption, reducing agent consumption, electricity consumption, water consumption, refractory consumption, electrode consumption, equipment operation rate, product recovery rate, etc.
