A scrap aluminum melting furnace, also known as an aluminum melting furnaces, is an industrial induction furnaces used for melting recycled aluminum, primarily in the scrap aluminum recycling and processing industry.
Its design prioritizes oxidation losses and thermal efficiency during the aluminum melting process.
Induction melting furnace come in both coreless and cored types, equipped with magnetic stirring. Oxidation losses are as low as 0.5%-5%, but cleaning the melt channel can be challenging. Modern equipment generally utilizes a tower-shaped preheating structure, which preheats the scrap aluminum to 300-400°C, separating volatiles and improving melting quality.
Induction melting furnace are a type of equipment used to melt scrap aluminum and offer several advantages. These induction furnaces require no infrastructure, are easy to install, and are equipped with intelligent temperature control and safety features such as leak, overflow, and power-off protection.
Compared to resistance furnaces, such as IGBT furnaces, they offer improved energy efficiency. Features of aluminum melting furnaces include constant power output, rapid melting, and zero-voltage sweep start, making them suitable for frequent starts. This type of furnace is widely used in the foundry industry, quickly and efficiently converting scrap aluminum into usable molten aluminum.
Common induction furnaces come in both coreless and cored versions. The advantages of this type of aluminum melting furnaces are:
① Low air intake and oxidation loss, typically only around 0.5% of aluminum metal is lost. Even for scrap aluminum, the loss is less than 1% per hour, and for scrap aluminum, it's only 5% at most.
② Intense magnetic field lines generate stirring during melting, resulting in uniform composition and rapid melting, which is very beneficial for scrap material.
③ Low power consumption and high thermal efficiency. Typically, power consumption is 380-450 kilowatt-hours per ton, and thermal efficiency can reach 70%. Resistance furnaces, on the other hand, consume 430-600 kilowatt-hours per ton and achieve a thermal efficiency of 50%.
④ Small footprint and a favorable operating environment.
Scrap aluminum melting furnace, a type of induction melting furnace that has become increasingly popular in the foundry industry in recent years, offer high melting efficiency, excellent energy conservation, excellent metal composition uniformity, low loss, rapid temperature rise, and easy temperature control. They are suitable for melting a variety of metals.
