The automatic operation of the side wall oxygen lance follows a pre-set program and mode. As power consumption or time increases, the side wall oxygen lance automatically performs heating, subsonic, and supersonic modes. In the supersonic mode, an appropriate amount of carbon powder should be injected to ensure the formation of foam slag with a thickness of over 30mm inside the DC electric arc furnace. To inject carbon powder, simply turn the selection switch to manual mode. The flow rate of carbon powder can be selected from low, medium, and high. Before feeding material, the side wall oxygen lance should first press the feeding button, then turn the selection switch to manual mode, select the heating mode with the mode selection switch, and prevent steel slag from splashing and blocking the lance head. After powering on, turn the selection switch to automatic mode. During automatic operation of the side wall oxygen lance, if the DC electric arc furnace in case of a power outage, the side wall oxygen lance will automatically switch to the holding mode. The furnace door lance is only used to purge the scrap steel in the furnace door area after the scrap steel is basically melted and cleared, and then the lance will be retracted after purging.
When the oxygen pressure is below 10 bar, the automatic mode is still used during the melting stage of scrap steel. Only after the molten steel is cleared, to ensure the decarburization effect, it is necessary to close one or two ultra-high-speed oxygen lances to reduce the usage of oxygen and maintain the oxygen pressure. If lance 1# is not used in ultra-high-speed mode, first switch the selection switch to manual, then switch the mode selection switch to ultra-high-speed mode, and then click on lance 1# with the mouse. After a sub-screen pops up, click the "HOLD" and "OK" buttons to force it to execute the hold mode. After smelting is completed, switch the selection switch to hold mode, then click on lance 1# with the mouse. After a sub-screen pops up, click the "RESUME" button and "OK" to stop executing the forced command. The use of the oxygen lance on the side wall of the next furnace is determined based on the oxygen pressure situation, whether to use automatic or manual mode.
When the side wall oxygen lance is closed for more than 15 minutes, such as during furnace maintenance or peak shaving, it is necessary to ignite again when resuming production. Ensure that all manual valves are fully opened, and when the power consumption exceeds 4000 kWh (or when iron water is introduced)
Only after the process can the side wall oxygen lance be switched to manual hold mode, and it should be opened one by one in sequence, with an interval of more than 5 seconds between each opening.
When the operating pressure of the side wall oxygen lance exceeds 10 bar, the side wall oxygen lance operates normally in an automatic manner. The material is fully charged and powered up to 2500 kW·h, and the furnace door scrap begins to glow red before the lance enters the furnace door. The flow rate is controlled at 1000 to 1500 Nm3/h, and when using 60 Nm3 of oxygen, the flow rate is reduced to 600 to 800 Nm3/h. When the operating pressure of the side wall oxygen lance is insufficient and the side wall lance reaches supersonic speed, the oxygen valve opening reaches 100%, and the flow rate fails to meet the set requirements, the number of side wall oxygen lances in use must be adjusted to ensure that the lances are in normal operating condition. The mission of the furnace door lance is the same as previously described.
